FAQ
Straight answers.
The basics
Is Arrangely available to buy?
Not yet. It's at pilot stage, and we haven't set prices.
What does it run on?
Windows laptops and a Windows PC or server. It doesn't run on Macs or Chromebooks.
Does it need the internet?
No. Laptops talk to your own server on your network, and neither needs an internet connection to run exams.
Do we need Active Directory or Entra?
No. It's designed not to depend on how your laptops are joined.
Exam regulations
Is it JCQ approved?
We don't claim that. Your centre stays responsible for following JCQ rules and deciding who gets which arrangement. Arrangely applies the settings you choose and records what was used.
Does it replace a human reader?
Not automatically. Read aloud is a computer reader using Windows voices. Whether that's suitable for a candidate is your centre's decision.
Can a candidate get out of the exam?
Live exams run full screen with common shortcuts blocked, and events are recorded. No software on a standard Windows account can promise that nobody ever could, so your Windows policies and invigilators still matter.
Setting up
How do we install it?
Two installers. Laptops can be set up with Intune, Group Policy, other deployment tools or by hand. It never updates itself, so you stay in control.
Does it work with our MIS?
You can import any spreadsheet export by matching the columns once. There's a marksheet import that's been shaped around SIMS exports. There's no direct MIS connection yet.
How do we check a laptop before an exam?
Pre-Exam Checks on the sign-in screen run a practice exam with a sample paper and test the connection. Nothing from a practice exam is saved.
Data
Do you see pupil data?
No. It stays on your server, and there's no telemetry. Please don't email us pupil information either.
How long is data kept?
Usage evidence is deleted automatically after a date you control, by default 31 January the year after the exam. Your school's own collected documents are never touched.
Try it in your school.
We're looking for UK schools to run Arrangely alongside what they use today, starting with mock exams.
